Islamabad: The International Islamic University (IIU) and Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (ISESCO) have agreed to boost mutual cooperation in terms of scholarships, conferences and academic excellence.
The agreement came during a meeting between ISESCO Director General Dr Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri and IIU President Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh on Tuesday.
During the meeting, Dr Abdulaziz Othman assured of cooperation regarding provision of scholarships to the IIU students.
He hailed IIU’s role for improvement of educational standards for the youth of Muslim world. Both the personalities also discussed matter of a conference on “The Experience of Islamic Universities in Teaching of Arabic Language to Non-Arabs”.
The ISESCO DG said that organisation will jointly work with IIU for arrangements of the conference.
It was also agreed that IIU and ISESCO would jointly hold a conference on Iqbal’s thoughts in Morocco.
Dr. Al-Draiweesh congratulated Dr Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri upon receiving Sitara i Imtiaz which was conferred upon him by the Government of Pakistan on March 23.
The president IIU said on the occasion that university is keen to broaden its linkages with all the universities of the world. He said the IIU would keep disseminating Islam’s message of peace. He also thanked the ISESCO for cooperation with the IIU and hoped that mutual ties would be further strengthened in future.
