26 killed in Bahawalpur road accident

BAHAWALPUR: Twenty-six passengers were killed and several others wounded when a van collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction in Bahawalpur Tuesday, Geo News reported.

 

According to rescue sources, the passenger van was on its way to Ahmedpur Sharqia from Bahawalpur when it had a head-on collision with a truck. As a result of the accident, all the 25 passengers of the ill-fated van including seven women, one girl and three children were killed while three persons in the truck also died.

 

Seven out of nine injured persons are said to be in critical condition.

 

The bodies and injured were shifted to Bahawalpur Victoria Hospital.

this number of casualties in Pakistani accidents tells us the overall safety on road. Both public and government is involved. No one follow the rules. Motorcycles are normally operated by kids, so are cars and even public transport. This country is complete mess. There is no provision for crossing road, every one is on the road, animals, humans and vehicles
