GUJRANWALA: Pir Hameeduddin Sialvi of Sial Sharif shrine demanded on Sunday resignation of either Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif or Law Minister Rana Sanaullah by Dec 31. While addressing a gathering of Khatm-e-Nubawat conference at Sheranwala Bagh here, he said Shahbaz Sharif had failed to fulfil his promise about the resignation of Rana Sanaullah.
He said Ulema were united and no one could stop them from launching the Khatm-e-Nabuwat protection movement. He announced that the next protest would be staged in Lahore and if the resignation of Punjab law minister was not tendered till Dec 31, a nationwide movement against the Punjab government would be launched.
He said the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) government had failed to satisfy the public about change in Khatm-e-Nabuwat oath. Neither Shahbaz nor Hamza Shahbaz fulfilled their commitments regarding resignation of Rana Sanaullah. He said the Punjab government was playing double game, but they would not tolerate it as it is a religious, and not a political, matter.
He also urged the participants not to vote for the PML-N candidates in the general election 2018 and that they would not succumb to any pressure. Various other ulema also addressed the gathering. They all said the next conference would be held in Lahore and they would not withdraw the demand for Rana Sanaullah’s resignation. They said the government should enforce Nizam-i-Mustafa in the country. Meanwhile, Ulema-Mashaikh wing of the PMLN Punjab Arshad Mehmood announced his resignation.
