GB pavilion at Turkish exhibition attracts visitors
GILGIT: A high-level delegation from Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) participated in the Hestourex Congress and exhibition in Turkey.
GB Chief Secretary Kazim Niaz, Deputy Speaker Jaffarullah Khan and Secretary Tourism Waqar Ali Khan were members of the delegation. Private tour operators from the GB also attended the event which started on April 5 and ended on the 8th of this month.
The GB Tourism Department had established a pavilion at Hestourex 2018. More than 4000 participants from various countries participated in the event. The visitors highly appreciated the natural beauty and adventure tourism potential of the GB.
Foreign Minister of Turkey Mevlut Cavusoglu visited the GB pavilion. He announced that he along with the Turkish economy minister would visit GB, this year. The minister called for increasing the mutual touristic exchange and linkages between the two countries.
On the sidelines of the event, the delegation met Munir Karaloglu, Governor of Antalya, Menderes Mehmet Tevfik Turel, Mayor of Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, Ercan Mutlu, Deputy President, Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Firuz Baglikaya, President, Turkish Travel Agencies Association (Tursab). Meetings focused on exploring possibilities of Turkish tourists visiting the GB. Turkish tour operators will visit Pakistan to explore new avenues of cooperation between GB and Turkey.
