BARA: An official of the paramilitary forces was killed and 10 others sustained injuries in a remote controlled bomb blast in the Tirah Valley of Khyber Agency, official sources said on Friday.
The sources said that the incident took place after suspected militants opened fire
on a convoy of security forces heading towards the mountainous sanctuaries of militants. The forces entered a house after firing wherein the already planted explosives went off, sources informed.
Eleven officials of security forces were wounded and later one of them succumbed to his injuries, sources added. The injured were shifted to a nearby health facility.Sources said that security forces made advancement in some parts of Tirah Valley and took control of the hideouts of militants in Sanda Pal, Takhtakai and Tarkho Kas.
Similarly, security forces officials arrested eight drug-peddlers and recovered a huge quantity of hashish from their possession after an exchange of fire in the Kamar Khel area of Bara tehsil, local sources said.
