Park named after Mehdi Hassan opened

KARACHI: Sindh Governor, Dr Ishrat- ul- Ebad Khan, here on Monday inaugurated a park in Nazimabad Block- N named after renowned singer Mehdi Hassan.

 

The celebrated singer was also present at the inaugural ceremony of the spacious park.

 

The Governor paid rich tributes to Mehdi Hassan who, he said, was internationally known and introduced his art round the globe.

 

He said that the services of Mehdi Hassan for the fine arts are immense.

 

Dr Ishrat also visited the Nazimabad Gymkhana and directed that the work should be completed by February 15 and the facility be opened

to the people.

 

Talking to media persons he said that talks between the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) are continuing regarding the new local bodies system.

 

Agreement has already been reached on various points and that both the parties would soon be able to give a final shape to the new local bodies system, he added. (APP)

It is a good sign to honor heroes while they are still alive. Mehdi Hasan should be honored even more.
