LOWER DIR: Pakistani security forces killed at least 12 militants in a skirmish near Pakistan-Afghan border late on Saturday night, Geo News reported.

According to military sources, the border security forces were policing the area when they encountered a group of heavily armed insurgents and engaged them in a gun-battle.

By the time the exchange of fire came to an end around 12 extremists were killed several more were injured while the rest headed for the hill leaving the casualties behind.
