MINGORA: A senior military official directed all the departments in Swat to prepare a foolproof contingency plan to cope with possible flood in the district.
General Officer Commanding (GOC), Malakand, Maj-Gen Nadir Khan visited residential areas on the bank of Jambail Khwar and Saidu Khwar near here and met the residents.He told the area residents that the civil administration and security forces had made arrangements for the safety and security of the people. However, he asked the people to observe the precautionary measure to avoid any untoward incident.
The GOC also visited Angaro Dheri where he examined a protection wall and embankment. Deputy Commissioner Mehmud Aslam and officials of the Irrigation Department briefed the GOC. He directed the officials to ensure the protection of the local population in the wake of floods.
Locals appreciated the steps being taken by the security forces for their protection.Six houses collapse in Hangu rain: At least six houses collapsed in Sarki Piyala area due to monsoon rain but it caused no loss of life here on Monday.

They asked the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governor, political administration and the officials of Fata Disaster Management Authority to declare the area calamity-hit so that dwellers of the area could be compensated.
