NBP launches core-banking in Kohat

KOHAT: The National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) launched a core-banking system.To this effect a ceremony was held at the main branch of the NBP with Pakistan Officer Association provincial president Hukam Khan in the chair and attended by a large number of officials and employees.Speaking on the occasion, Hukam Khan said that resolving to the problems faced by the NBP employees and to facilitate the consumers were the top priorities of the association. “Some problems were created due to the new technology of core-banking system in the banks but most of them had been redressed now”, he added. General secretary Nisar Akhtar, president Kohat district Javed Iqbal Khan, general secretary Ramzam Khan and others also spoke on the occasion.

Two cousins killed in Karak

KARAK: Two cousins were killed over an old enmity in Chanikhel area of Karak tehsil while the killers managed their escape after the incident. The police said Dr Siraj and Amal Nawaz were travelling on their motorbike when ambushed by rivals in Sabirabad area. Relatives of the deceased got registered a case against Shahidullah and Ajmeen Badshah in Sabirabad Police Station.

QWP believes in women empowerment: Sikandar

PESHAWAR: Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) provincial chief Sikandar Sherpao has said his party believes in women’s empowerment and would continue efforts to end discrimination against them.Talking to reporters, the QWP leader said women constitute more than 50 percent of the population and their empowerment was vital for development of the country.He criticised Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government for its ‘discriminatory’ attitude towards women. “This government made tall claims about women empowerment but in reality they are doing worst discrimination,” he alleged.
