PESHAWAR: An ugly scene was created when workers of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and supporters of Javed Nasim, a Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) from PK-3, clashed with and fired shots into the air on the Dilazak Road on Monday evening.
The PTI workers later approached the Paharipura Police Station to lodge a case against Javed Nasim and other persons for the firing and the clash. The PTI workers, mostly members of the Insaf Students Federation, were staging a sit-in outside the residence of MPA Javed Nasim to protest his recent statements and his alleged support to the rival candidate of the PTI.
The PTI has already issued show cause notice to the MPA on his recent statements after which the ISF members announced sit-in outside his house located on the Dilazak Road. The ISF workers chanted slogans against Javed Nasim for his alleged support to the rival candidate in upcoming Senate elections. A clash erupted between the workers from both sides over chanting of slogans after which several gun shots were fired into the air. Supporters of the MPA alleged windowpanes of his house were broken by the angry protestors.
