NOWSHERA: The officials of the Customs Intelligence Squad Thursday foiled a drug trafficking bid to Punjab and recovered 60 kilogram hashish from a vehicle at the Rashakai Interchange on Peshawar-Islamabad motorway, an official said.
Director Customs Intelligence Squad, Asghar Khan, told reporters that acting on a tip-off, the officials setup a checkpoint at the Rashakai Interchange and started searching vehicles.
He said the officials flagged down a jeep (LHY-364) but the driver sped away the vehicle. He said on being chased, the accused left the vehicle and escaped.
Asghar Khan said the customs officials recovered hashish concealed in the secret cavities of the vehicle.
He said the customs officials took the vehicle into custody and lodged a case against unidentified drug traffickers.
