PESHAWAR: Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) provincial head Sikandar Sherpao said on Sundaythat the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were exposed to a host of problems due to the ill-conceived policies of the rulers.
“The Pakhtuns have suffered the most in the war on terror, but not a single penny of the billions of rupees foreign aid has been spent for their wellbeing,” he told a meeting of party district chairmen from Malakand Zone at Watan Kor.
QWP senior vice chairman Bakht Baidar Khan, general secretary Hashim Babar, Malakand Zone chairman Fazal Rehman and others also spoke at the meeting.Sikandar Sherpao said some powers had been using the soil of the Pakhtuns for decades to promote own vested interests. “The Pakhtuns cannot afford to face more problems. Solid efforts should be taken to remove the sense of deprivation among them,” he demanded.
The QWP leader said the December 16 school attack should be thoroughly probed and the National Action Plan implemented in letter and spirit. He said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was rich in natural resources, but its inhabitants didn’t have enough opportunities of job due to the incompetence of the government.Sikandar Sherpao said his party would resist changing the route of the Pak-China Economic Corridor as it would be an injustice to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
