Heart palpitations

Heart palpitations may feel like a fluttering or skipping sensations, or the perception that the heart is beating too quickly.
The National Heart Lung and Blood Institute says possible causes of heart palpitations include:

* Engaging in rigorous physical activity.
* Taking certain medications, such as decongestants or diet pills.
* Drinking caffeine, or consuming nicotine.
* Having certain medical conditions, such as anaemia or thyroid disease.
