RMS students visit Turkey

On the invitation of Turkish Ambassador Babur S. Girgin, the Roots Millennium School (RMS), in collaboration with Turkish Radio Television (TRT), organised a thirteen-day trip for its students to Antalya, Turkey, says a press release.
The trip was organised to promote cultural awareness among the students of the two brotherly countries.
A group of ten students from RMS nationwide campuses, accompanied by Ms. Fauzia Khan (RMS Outreach Manager) as the group leader, got the opportunity to explore the beautiful Antalya — a resort destination in Turkey and gateway to its Southern Mediterranean region. The students from the RMS campuses in Islamabad, Gujranwala, Mirpur, Peshawar and Rawalpindi formed the ten-member group.
The trip was organised as part of the ‘Learning Beyond Borders’ and ‘Outreach Initiative’ of the Roots Millennium Schools which aim to develop students by providing them opportunities to travel across borders, explore and enrich their knowledge and learning with international exposure.
According to students, Turkey is no doubt a tourist paradise with breathtaking scenic beauty. It is a melting pot of many diverse races and cultures, including the Europe and other parts of the world, living together with great harmony, tolerance and peace. The Turks are very friendly, humble and hospitable towards Pakistan and Pakistanis. They were very welcoming and have immense acceptance towards tourists and for different races.
The group visited various sites of attraction in Antalya. The students enjoyed the International Children’s Day Festival organised by the Turkish Radio Television. The visits to the Wax Museum and Antalya Harbour were very interesting.
The Turkish host families looked after students well, which made their departure back home disturbing. Some of the students were in tears while saying goodbye to their hosts.
Roots Millennium Schools Chief Executive Chaudhry Faisal Mushtaq appreciated the initiative by the Embassy of Turkey in Islamabad and TRT.
