The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) has launched a computer system for government educational institutions in Islamabad to keep a record of visitors.
The Daily Visitors Invigilation System, designed by the FDE Information Technology Section, will help make educational institutions more secure against violence, especially acts of terrorism, a relevant official told this scribe.
According to the official, all government educational institutions are bound to maintain the record of visitors on daily basis before sharing it with the FDE.
He said the city police would have a real-time access to the visitors’ record for tracking suspicious people.
The official said the DVIS record would be confidential and that only the people designated by educational institutions and the FDE would have access to it.
