The Roots International Schools (RIS) has signed an MoU with Webster University, Thailand, for mutual collaboration to promote student exchange programmes and initiatives.
The MoU would help define a long-term capacity building relationship to build strategy for enhanced academic and joint ventures in future.
The MoU was signed RIS CEO Walid Mushtaq and Webster University (Thailand) Rector Ratish Thakur. The ceremony was graced by Samrat Ray Chaudhri, director of Marketing and Enrolment Management, Nisha Ray, Director Academics, Taqqaddus Fatima, Headmistress of RIS, Lahore, Ramona Mihaela, Head of MBA Programme.
The institutions express mutual interest to establish a relationship that may result in future collaborative activities including: student and faculty exchanges, joint conferences and research projects or other initiatives.
Walid Mushtaq said, “Such international agreements represent an outstanding opportunity for faculty, staff, and students to grow and learn through contact with international colleagues. We recognise the value these exchanges have in strengthening the teaching, research, and extension capabilities of the institutions involved, broadening the international experience of the students, and fostering goodwill between both nations,” he said.
The educationists discussed the process for creating opportunities for collaboration and positive academic engagement between universities to mutual benefit, without establishing a formal legal relationship between the two institutions.
The MoU intends to facilitate the exchange of materials in education and research, publications, and academic information; community outreach and knowledge sharing; faculty/staff visits, trainings and workshops; student scholarship and financial awards; graduate/undergraduate placements to enhance student experience; twining (transfer) programs or dual degree programmes; MOOCs; summer and winter camps; study abroad programs; cultural immersion exchanges to cultivate international mindedness; university preparation programs; joint youth conferences, MUNs and summits focused on leadership, entrepreneurship, modernisation, technology, global issues and trends.
