Islamabad: Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development Barrister Usman Ibrahim has expressed dissatisfaction with the existing security arrangements at government schools and colleges in Islamabad and directed the Federal Directorate of Education bosses to put in place measures for the foolproof security of children, teachers and other staff at local educational institutions.
He issued these directions during a surprise visit to Islamabad schools and colleges.
The minister said ensuring foolproof security at educational institutions was his prime responsibility so he would chair a meeting on the matter in his office on a daily basis.
He asked the FDE bosses to ensure early completion of work on the boundary walls of schools.
The FDE was also told to fill security gaps at schools and colleges.
The minister asked school and college principals to remain very vigilant and call staff meeting on the security of the premises daily.
He also said guards should allow staff members and parents or guardians of students to enter educational institutions only after security clearance.
