A 25-year-old woman with her throat slit open was recovered from the Kahna area on Sunday. Police believed that some unidentified persons had murdered the girl either on the issue of honour killing or some other issue and later threw her body in the limits of Kahna police station. The body also bore marks of torture, police said, adding that the victim, yet to be identified, had been subjected to torture before being killed. Body was shifted to morgue.

A man named Nasir along with his wife, two and a half years old son Hozaifa, was on his way on a bike when his son fell on the road near Laxmi Chowk, Qila Gujar Singh and came under the wheels of a truck, resulting into his instant death. Police impounded the truck and registered a case against the truck driver.
In another incident, a 17-year-old youth Gull Khan was killed by a speeding van near Jinnah Hospital. Meanwhile, a man identified as Umar, who received fatal injuries in a road accident in the Shafiqabad area and was admitted to a local hospital, expired on Sunday.
ARRESTED: Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) arrested 23 criminals along with a proclaimed offender besides foiling an attempt of kidnapping of a woman. The PHP team received a call that some unidentified persons had kidnapped a woman and they were on their way in a car. On which PHP team set up a picket near 137/6R, arrested four kidnappers Abdul Qadir, Ghulam Farid, Kaneeza Bibi and Matheela and recovered the kidnapped woman Yasmin.
