LAHORE
The newly constructed building of faculty of education at University of Education was inaugurated at the varsity’s Township Campus on Wednesday.
The USAID-funded faculty of education building is an environmentally-conscious and earthquake-resistant facility that includes 18,500 square feet of covered area, six classrooms, a multi-purpose hall, a learning resource centre, laboratories, a seminar room, new office space for faculty and a faculty lounge. University of Education Lahore is one of the 17 universities in Pakistan where USAID has funded the faculty of education building.
Acting US Consul General Erik Martini was the chief guest while Punjab Minister for Education Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, Chairman Punjab HEC Dr Nizamuddin, Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Rauf-i-Azam, Director Colleges, faculty members and a large number of students were also present.
Rana Mashhood said the universities were the hub of research and education and the role of competent teachers and researchers for the promotion of quality education could not be ignored at any cost.
