Google team meets CM

LAHORE
A delegation led by South Asia and South Eastern Asia of Google vice-president Rajan Anandan met Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Thursday. It was agreed in the meeting to promote cooperation between Punjab government and Google in information technology sector.
Speaking on the occasion, the CM said promotion of information technology was the top priority of the government. He said information technology was being fully utilised for the capacity-building of Punjab departments and institutions which was resulting in promotion of e-governance in the province. He said it was the need of the hour to benefit from digital technology for the provision of speedy and best services to the masses.
Vice President South Asia and South Eastern Asia of Google Rajan Anandan said cooperation with Punjab government in information technology sector will be promoted and they will be happy to work with Punjab under the leadership of Shahbaz Sharif. He said Shehbaz Sharif is taking effective measure under a vision for promotion of good governance in the province and has completed a number of development projects in a record period during his tenure. He said people are fully benefitting from the development projects completed by Shahbaz Sharif.
Kidney, liver institute: Shahbaz Sharif has said Pakistan Kidney & Liver Transplant Institute and Research Centre project is of vital importance for the provision of modern treatment facilities to kidney and liver patients. He said there is a need to work with national spirit on this important project.
He was addressing a video conference at Civil Secretariat from Islamabad on Thursday. Various matters regarding Pakistan Kidney & Liver Transplant Institute and Research Centre project were reviewed in the conference. He said Pakistan Kidney & Liver Transplant Institute and Research Centre project is a great project of public interest which should be speedily implemented. He said the steering committee formed for the project should review all matters regularly for taking decisions and a report should be presented within seven days after setting the timeline regarding the issues relating to the project.
