LAHORE
Pakistan must take up the issue of Indian RAW’s involvement in terrorist activities in Pakistan during the forthcoming session of UN General Assembly. This was demanded by the participants of a conference arranged by Pakistan Visionary Forum held at TECH Society Club on the topic: “Pak-India relations” on Sunday.
Former Minister of State Qayyum Nizami, Prof Dr Mugheesuddin, Salman Abid, Dr Muhammad Sadiq, Prof Dr Atiya Syed, Prof Mashkoor Ahmed, Dr Hasibullah, Col (r) Waheed Hamid, Engr Mahmudur Rehman Chughtai, former adviser IMF Khalid Saleem, Economist Imran Afzal, Engr Muhammad Azeem and Engr Yaqoob Chaudhry also spoke on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, speakers said that in case this was not done emphatically, it could possibly affect our civil-military relations. India is adhering to a policy of presenting Pakistan as a country of terrorism, although the fact is that Pakistan itself is a victim of severe terrorism. India is heavily investing on anti-Pakistan diplomatic campaigns as well as the media. Pakistan’s diplomacy is also not very effective in Afghanistan.
Speakers informed that Indian business community and RSS heavily spent on the election campaign of Modi, but business community had become extremely disappointed due to Modi’s present policies which were not in their best interests. On the other hand, Modi is now banking on his anti-Pakistan policies to gain political advantages. It is unfortunate that India considers Pakistan’s offer of negotiations as Pakistan’s weakness.
Indian media is full of anti-Pakistan campaigns on daily basis. However, speakers said, Pakistani media was not very effective in this regard. India is supporting anti-Pakistan political propaganda and is actively engaged to destabilise Pakistan.
It is a pity that so-called secular India always tries to win elections on the basis of anti-Pakistan sentiments, they added. It seems that Modi may not win the upcoming elections in Bihar on these grounds which will be a deciding factor for the political future of Modi government. Pakistan needs a strong and effective foreign policy and also appointment of a full time capable Foreign Minister. Pakistani youth must not lose hope and promote a sense of strong nationalism supported by prudence which will help in formulating an effective foreign policy. It was also informed that Indian army was targeting civilians in Pakistan whereas Pakistan was maintaining utmost restraint and responding only at Indian military posts for its self-defence. The government was urged to forcefully present the high civilian casualties in Pakistan for world attention as well as Indian RAW’s subversive activities through media at every pertinent international forum.
