The 104th meeting of Advanced Studies and Research Board of the University of Health Sciences (UHS) was held on Thursday with Vice-Chancellor Prof Muhammad Aslam in the chair.
According to a press release issued here on Thursday, the board considered the thesis reports of Dr Samina Nazli MPhil (Oral Pathology), Dr Hamid Hassan MPhil (Physiology), Dr Hina Nabi Ahmed MS (Anaesthesia), Dr Saadia Khan MD (Paediatrics), Dr Naureen Omar MPhil (Community Medicine), Dr Saima Iram MPhil (Haematology), Shamsa Kanwal MPhil (Human Genetics), Dr Zafar Iqbal MPhil (Anatomy), Dr Muhammad Umer Khan MPhil (Biochemistry), Dr Fahad Khaliq MPhil (Immunology), Dr Saira Khalid MPhil (Science of Dental Materials), Dr Rashid Hussain MS (Orthopaedics) and Dr Muhammad Nasrullah MS (Plastic Surgery). The following synopses were also considered for registration of students in various postgraduate courses: “Medical students perspectives regarding reasons which drive them to attend classes regularly” by Dr Khalid Javed Rabbani MHPE, “Comparison of stress level among different years of study in undergraduate dental students” by Dr Muhammad Saqib Rabbani MPhil (Behavioural Sciences), “Cloning and expression of modified constructs of human interferon alpha 2B gene” by Muhammad Nauman Ali MPhil (Medical Laboratory Sciences-Molecular Pathology & Cytogenetic), “Analysis of TNF alpha gene promoter polymorphisms in patients with dengue fever” by Syed Rizwan Ali MPhil (Medical Laboratory Sciences-Molecular Pathology & Cytogenetic), “Comparison of conventional cefoxitin disc diffusion method with latex agglutination for mecA gene product and PCR for the detection of methicillin resistant staphylococcus aureus” by Dr. Aneela Khawaja and others.
