College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) Senior Vice-President Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal has said the CPSP has signed the MoUs with the developed countries for further higher medical training.
According to a press release issued on Monday, Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal, addressing the participants of communication skills workshop, said presently 250 trainees were working in different seven specialties in Ireland. After the completion of two years of training these doctors will serve Pakistani people. The trainees of the CPSP are a symbol of national integrity, especially in Ireland. Pakistani ambassador to Europe and the Irish health authorities acknowledged and appreciated the services of the CPSP.
Earlier, the delegation of the CPSP visited Qatar, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia and inspected the Al-Hamd Hospital Qatar and various hospitals in Saudi Arabia. The CPSP accredited different institutions for training who met the criteria laid down by the CPSP. The present council took this step for the trainees who performed well in FCPS-I and IMM examinations.
He said the Council, headed by Prof. Zafar Ullah Chaudhry, President, CPSP, was the only institution of the country for higher medical education providing more than 85% specialist doctors across the country and around 20,000 doctors were under training in different stages in the civil, armed forces and private sector which would be monitored through e-log.
