Pakistan Muslim League-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and senior central leader Pervaiz Elahi have in very strong words condemned the killing of two lawyers, including President of Daska Bar Association and injuries to others in firing by police on Monday.
In a joint statement issued here Monday, they said this was an ample proof of government’s inefficiency and lawlessness in the province.
The PML-Q leaders have prayed for early recovery of the injured and expressed their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and said they shared their sorrow. They sympathised with the lawyer community.
Rana Sanaullah: Member Provincial Assembly Rana Sanaullah Khan has strongly condemned the Daska incident and appealed to the lawyer community to remain peaceful. Demands of justice will be fulfilled and the guilty persons be brought to justice.
In a statement, Rana Sanaullah said that hooliganism, ransacking and taking law into hand was not the solution of any problem. He said the government believed in supremacy of law and all legal demands would be fulfilled in this regard.
Sanaullah said that law would take its course against the mischievous elements causing damage to property and ransacking in the garb of this incident. He sympathised with the lawyers and assured that impartial inquiry into the incident would be conducted and the persons responsible would not escape punishment.
PPP: Pakistan People’s Party Central Punjab President Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo has condemned murder of Daska Bar Association President, Rana Khalid Abbas by Punjab Police.
He said such a brutal murder would not have been taken place had Model Town, Lahore, incidents culprits been apprehended and brought to justice. The government and the police considered them above the law and they could get away with any type of act of violence, he added. He expressed solidarity with the lawyer community and demanded that the perpetrators should be arrested within given time to bring them in the dock.
He said lawyers were the most respectable people of civil society who were engaged in providing justice to the people through courts. He appreciated the role of the lawyer community in upholding the supremacy of the law in the country.
