Heavy rain is likely to hit the provincial metropolis on Friday (today) with cold and cloudy weather dominating the entire weekend.
A westerly wave is affecting upper parts of the country. Another strong western disturbance is expected to approach Pakistan from Friday evening/night and would prevail over central and upper parts of the country till Monday.
Isolated heavy falls may occur in Northeast Balochistan (Quetta, Kalat, Zhob divisions) from Saturday to Monday morning. Isolated heavy falls are also expected in Islamabad, Upper Punjab (Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sahiwal divisions), KP (Malakand, Hazara, DI Khan divisions) and Kashmir on Sunday/Monday. Rain may be accompanied by isolated hailstorm in subordinate areas of the country during the period.
The city received 3 mm of rain on Thursday as sporadic drizzles punctuated the entire day. The maximum temperature in the city was 18 degrees Celsius while the minimum was 11. The minimum across the country was 6 at Astore.
