Naulakha police have failed to find any clue about the killers of a trader shot dead on Saturday.
In charge Investigation, Ghulam Hussain, said the police were working on different angles to arrest the killers. He said ‘circumstantial evidences’ suggested that the murder was a result of old enmity. Shahid Gujjar, 40, was shot dead on Saturday night.
RESCUE 1122: Punjab Rescue DG Dr Rizwan Naseer carried out a performance review of emergency operations in all 36 districts of Punjab to ensure uniform standard of the service and smooth emergency services delivery without discrimination. According to a handout, the emergency data showed that 48,076 victims of different emergencies were rescued by the Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) by conducting 46,050 rescue operations in February all over the Punjab while maintaining its average response time of seven minutes. The emergency calls to which Rescue 1122 responded include 16,815 road traffic accidents, 22,630 medical emergencies, 678 fire incidents, 1,615 crimes, 30 drowning incidents, 51 building collapses, 11 explosions and 4,220 miscellaneous operations. The Provincial Monitoring Cell informed the meeting that a youth was killed while doing wheelie near Mall Road Underpass. The PMC informed that the trend of doing wheelie was increasing. Dr Rizwan Naseer said: “After saving lives of over 3.1 million emergency victims through effective emergency management system, now we are moving towards Changing Minds by training Community Emergency Response Teams (CERTs) for Community Based Disaster Risk Management (CBDRM) & implementation of safe community development initiatives so that we can establish socially responsible, healthy, resilient and safer communities in Pakistan”. He directed all the District Emergency Officers to implement School Safety Programme in respective districts.
