A former employee of a private TV channel was found dead at her house in PIB Colony on Tuesday, apparently killed by robbers.
Police said Sadaf Akhter, 33, was living with her father at his house near Qadri Masjid in Pir Elahi Bux Colony after her husband Imran Qureshi’s death.
Her father, Chaudhry Madhi Akhter, went upstairs and saw his daughter in a pool of blood. Police reached the scene and shifted the body to the Jinnah hospital for postmortem.
Police said cash, jewellery and other valuables had been robbed from the house and two domestic aides, Nadeem and his wife Nafeesa, were missing.
The police suspect that the domestic aides might be responsible for the murder and robbery.
A medico-legal officer at the hospital said Sadaf’s throat had been slit with a sharp object.
Sadaf had worked with Samaa TV as its online content editor for five years before quitting seven months ago.
Her elder brother is Pakistan Navy officer.
Separately, Muhammad Hakim, 55 died when he accidentally fell off the stairs of his house in Qayyum Khani Colony in Baldia Town.
