Two young men committed suicide in the city on Friday.
Ghulam Islam, 24, ended his life by consuming a poisonous substance at his residence near Murghi Khana in Quaidabad. His family members took him to a nearby hospital in an unconscious condition where he breathed his last.
The police later shifted the body to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center for legal formalities. Officials said the deceased had been jobless for a while now and the subsequent depression fuelled his decision.
In Malir, 27-year-old Muhammad Ali, after a quarrel with his parents, hanged himself from a ceiling fan at his residence in Model Colony.
His family took the body to a private hospital nearby but he was pronounced dead on arrival. His parents took away the body without a postmortem.
Accidental poisoning
A minor girl died after accidently consuming a poisonous substance at her Mithadar residence.
Seven-year-old Tabiha swallowed what turned out to be a toxic material and, though she was rushed to the Civil Hospital, passed away soon after. Her parents took the body without any legal formalities.
