The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has arrested a proclaimed offender, Abid Saeed in a corruption reference, according to a statement issued by the bureau’s Karachi office on Monday.
Saeed is a co-accused and facing charges of misappropriation of proceeds from excise duty and the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation by opening a fake account in the NBP Massan Road Branch, Karachi. He was a daily-wage worker in the NBP and was the introducer in opening and operating the fake account. He misappropriated the amount and caused a loss to the government exchequer.
