A leader of the Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) and a Shia community member were gunned down in separate attacks on Friday.
Qari Mohammed Yasir, 33, was shot dead while Ahmed, 19, was injured in Gulistan-e-Jauhar Block 7 by two attackers on a motorcycle.
SHO Mohammad Ijaz said Yasir was the caretaker of Jamia Masjid Taha. He had left the mosque with Ahmed, a student, for Safoora Goth to meet someone. They were returning to the mosque when they were attacked. The victims were taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where Yasir died. He was shot six times in the head and chest with a 9mm pistol. Yasir hailed from Hazara division of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

Man slain
In Orangi Town, armed men gunned down Haider Zaidi, 32, and injured a worker of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, Saleem Ali, near Ghausia Chowk.
Mominabad SHO Sabir Khattak said the victims were residents of Orangi Town and worked at the Qatar Hospital.
They were taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where Zaidi died. Ali was in a critical condition.

Robbers kill man
Saeed Ahmed was shot near Akhtar Colony, Defence police said, when he put up resistance to two unidentified motorcyclists who were robbing him. He was taken to Jinnah hospital where he died.
