Two boats capsize, one dead

BAHAWALPUR: Two boats were capsized in River Sutluj near Aakoka Pattan, Bahawalnagar here on Tuesday.
Twenty one-year-old M Ishfaq of Qasimka area drowned in the river. Rescue 1122 fished out the body after several hours of search operation.
The second accident occurred near Basti Menggwani Pattan where no human loss has been reported. Dozens of locals, including women and children and two dozen motorbikes, drowned in the river after the boat filled with water.
Locals rescued all aboard the boat on self-help basis as well as their motorbikes. According to the victims, the boat filled with water due to holes in it.
