LAHORE: Additional District and Sessions Judge Mian Shehzad Raza Wednesday granted interim bail to woman Maryam Safdar by March 24 allegedly involved in crushing two people to death in a bid to protect herself from the charged mob of Christian community in Youhanabad.
The court granted the bail to the accused petitioner against furnishing bail bond of Rs 100,000. Meanwhile, the judge also summoned the complainant of FIR as well as the police record by March 24.
The accused is also directed to join the investigation and to appear before the court on each and every date of hearing till the final disposal of this bail petition. As per case details, petitioner Maryam Safdar submitted the court that she is innocent and has nothing to do with this case adding FIR is totally false, frivolous and concocted one.
She implored that the alleged FIR had been registered with malafide intention and ulterior motives of the complainant as well as the local police.She contended that no specific role has been attributed to the petitioner so the petitioner is entitled to the grant of pre-arrest bail. She submitted that she will join the investigation and undertake to appear before the court on each and every date of the hearing.
According to the FIR lodged by Hameed Masih in Nishtar Colony police station under section 322,337/G of PPC submitted that on March 16, the Christian community was staging protest on Ferozpur Road against the twin blasts on churches of Youhanabad when a car being driven by a woman appeared. The participants of the protest intercepted her but the woman instead of stopping the car hit the protesters as a result of which his son Amir and other Danish Shehbaz died while twelve including Khalid Bashir, Halgar, Haroon, Aman, Shamaoon, Abid, Aqeel, Amir, Tanveer, Riaz, Ansar, Haneef all belonging to Christian community were badly injured.
