HANGU: A former peace body head has asked the government to provide security and financial support to his family.Talking to reporters on Wednesday, Salamat Khan Orakzai, who was head of the Orakzai Amn Lashkar, said that he had actively participated in the government actions against militants.
Salamat Khan said he along with other peace committee members fought against militants in Orakzai Agency from 2009 to 2012. He claimed the government had promised him financial support and other benefits.
However, he said the government had withdrawn support from him since 2012, adding that he was on the hit list of militants. The former peace body head said that he could not work due to fear of being killed or kidnapped by militants as he had escaped several attempts in the past.He claimed that he had borrowed Rs5 million since then and asked the security forces and government to provide his family protection and financial support.
