QUETTA: Frontiers Corps, Balochistan in an operation on Thursday in Rahman Kahul, tehsil Chaman recovered explosive material, IEDs, circuits etc in huge quantity, said Brigadier Tahir Mehmood.
Addressing a press conference here on Friday at FC Madadgar, he said that it was another achievement as the recovery pre-empted a wave of terrorism in the province. The recovered items included 1359 kilogram fertilizer, 600 litre Acid, 5 containers of Explosive Processing Chemical, 4350 kilogram black and white explosive powder 6500 circuit boxes, Prima card 2500 meters, 8000 meter wire 480 IED boxes, 630 remote controls, 100 detonators cases and other devices to be used for explosions and other subversive material besides literature propagating hatred.
Referring to a large scale search operation in Johanm Splenchi and Haboi of Qalat and Mastung, he said that operation was based on specific intelligence reports during which 20 terrorists including a number of commanders were gunned down by the security agencies while dozens were arrested. Four jawans of also sustained injuries in the operation, he said adding that 03 vehicles and 04 motorcycles laden with explosive materials were destroyed in the operation.
The militants killed and arrested were involved in the damage to oil tankers of Saindak Project and attacks on FC men, said Brigadier Tahir. This operation was aimed at securing the RCD highway in view of increasing attacks and others subversive activities of separative elements, said FC commander.
He told the press that during previous week FC also conducted a search operation in Mashke, Awaran against militants belonging to Baluchistan Liberation Front (BLF) killing one commander and arretsting 6 others.
