ISLAMABAD: Senior journalist and Managing Director (MD) of state-run television Muhammad Malick said that the doors of government-run television had been first time opened for all parties including Opposition.
He was addressing the general body of the two unions led by Pervez Bhatti and Liaquat Tarar on Wednesday. The MD said that the state-run TV would be made exemplary by means of merit, transparency and improvement in governance.
Malick said that it was false notion that employees of state-run TV were being laid off, adding that his and employees’ respect was joined and we will jointly make state-run TV unprecedented.
He said that 440 employees of the TV had been promoted on merit basis. He said that the problems of the TV staff would be solved with 33% increase in house rent and other privileges, and workers-friendly policies would continue. The representatives of both unions appreciated employees’ friendly policies of the managing director and assured him of their full cooperation.
