Faith in science
The world is battling Covid -19. In the absence of an effective cure, it seems that distancing is the only way forward. The invisible enemy has not only threatened lives but has also devastated the lives of countless people by enforcing economic shutdowns. Everything is at a standstill. The scientific community has come into focus once again to bail out humanity. In the wake of the recent surge of right-wing politics, the world has witnessed great economic cuts towards scientific research in the last decade or so. Science and scientific view have been replaced with metaphysics. From the United States to India, the conservative Right has cut down on scientific research.
In this the role of the rich Middle-Eastern monarchies is extremely disappointing too. With mountains of wealth they have done nothing. This may be a wake-up call
for humanity. An environment of fear and suspicion is in no one’s interest. Let us keep faith and be faithful to science in coping with this situation.
