IGP bars entry of new persons into Tableeghi Jamaat centres
Sindh police chief Mushtaq Ahmed Mahar has barred the entry of new people at the Tableeghi Jamaat centres in Sindh being used as quarantine facilities.
Officials said the inspector general of police (IGP) had directed the field police officials to make sure no new people were entering the centres of the Tableeghi Jamaat in the province being used as quarantine facilities for the suspected coronavirus cases among the Jamaat members.
In his directives issued to the field police officials on Tuesday, the Sindh IGP said the members of the Tableeghi Jamaat in different districts had to stay at their respective centres during the current coronvarius emergency as these centres had been transformed into quarantine facilities for them.
The SSPs have been directed to work in collaboration with the deputy commissioners in districts and the provincial health department to provide ration to the people quarantined at the Tableeghi Jamaat centres.
The police officials have been asked to collect the data of the people quarantined at such centres of the Tableeghi Jamaat in Sindh. The people quarantined at the centres should also be given all necessary items, the IGP ordered.
The police have been ordered to make sure that the people quarantined at the centres were not allowed to leave during their period of isolation. The police have been instructed to make sure that the people kept at these centres were observing a proper isolation.
The police officials have been directed to trace other people of the Tableeghi Jamaat in their respective areas for their proper isolation during the viral epidemic emergency. The family members of the Tableeghi Jamaat’s members would also be traced for isolation and tests for coronavirus, and to make them observe the necessary safety precautions to prevent the COVID-19 spread.
The area police officials have been asked to prepare lists of the Tableeghi Jamaat’s centres and the people staying there. They been told to send the data the central police office at the earliest.
