KARACHI: District South police on Monday foiled a kidnapping attempt of a couple along with their minor kids in Karachi by a group of men wearing uniform of security forces and who had arrived from Lahore.
The suspects had arrived in Karachi to kidnap Tassawar, his wife Parveen and their two children Alishba and Ahsan. They victims are said to be ex-servants of Malik Nadeem; owner of a kiln in Lahore. According to police sources, 10 kidnappers from Lahore, wearing security forces’ uniforms, had arrived in Karachi in two vehicles.
The police sources said that the suspects had come under cover of security forces and brought along a fake media vehicle to kidnap Tassawar and his family at the behest of Malik Nadeem. The police managed to arrest them after receiving a complaint on Police Helpline 15. A case was registered.South Zone DIG Sharjeel Kharal, SSP South Sheraz Nazeer and SHO Pir Shabbir were unavailable for comments when The News contacted for comments.
