Qatar appoints new envoy to Pakistan
ISLAMABAD: Qatar has appointed Sheikh Saud Abdul Rehman Faisal Al-Thani as new ambassador for Pakistan.
Sheikh Saud Abdul Rehman belongs to Qatar’s Royal family and is currently associated with the office of Amir of Qatar in Doha. He will be replacing Saqr bin Mubarak who served in Pakistan as ambassador for more than four years and returned to Qatarian capital where he will be assigned an important slot in the Foreign Office since he is a career diplomat. Saqr bin Mubarik had played useful role for enhancing cooperation and friendly ties between Pakistan and his country. Well placed diplomatic sources told The News/Jang here that Sheikh Saud has vast experience of dealing with the foreign dignitaries and good at the international issues.
The sources said that Pakistan had given consent to the appointment of Sheikh Saud Abdul Rehman Faisal Al-Thani as ambassador of Qatar for Pakistan. It is likely he will reach Islamabad as soon the flight operation is resumed between Doha and Islamabad.
