Residents concerned over people’s entry into Dir
DIR: Swabs of five suspected persons, four of them from the family of the two confirmed coronavirus patients in Upper Dir district, have been sent to Peshawar for testing while locals have expressed apprehensions on the unchecked entry of people into the district.After reported positive the coronavirus cases two days ago, screening of the residents of Maraano village has been completed. Sources in the health department of Upper Dir said that screening of the affected family members had been completed and coronavirus tests of four family members of the patients had also been taken. However, they added that residents of Maraano had been directed to stay in the village and not to go out and immediately inform health department in case of having problems in chests, cough, fever, sneezing, etc. Meanwhile, residents of various areas of Upper Dir, who had gone to others areas of the country for labour, are entering the district via other routes, and avoiding the main Akhagram route. People of Upper Dir have demanded of the administration to take steps to stop people from entering the district without proper checking and screening, otherwise the virus could be spread and create problems in the area.
