More emergency numbers at commissioner’s control room
The Karachi Commissioner Control Room has added more emergency numbers to control the coronavirus pandemic. The control room will operate 24 hours a day.
According to a press statement from the commissioner office, the numbers are: 02199204439, 02199204451, 02199206565, 02199204452. These additional numbers have been opened for the people of Karachi, according to Commissioner Iftikhar Shallwani.
For any sort of information or consultancy, the commissioner said, citizens can call at these number sat any time. As for their WhatsApp number, 01117120316, people can contact through messages. People can also give information regarding the spread of the coronavirus through this number.
There will be doctors inside the control room for consultancy regarding COVID-19. In a new statement on Thursday, Shallwani appealed to the people of Karachi to remain inside their homes and not to come out unnecessarily. Only two industries, food and medicine, he said, are allowed to operate as people would need them.
“Apart from this, no industry, no business is allowed run,” he said and requested everyone to stay inside homes. I an administrative order on Wednesday, he had asked all grocery stores, supermarkets and general stores to operate from 8am till 8pm. All dairy milk shops are allowed to remain open from 6am till 8pm. All pharmacies, medical stores situated within or adjacent to public, private hospitals will be allowed to remain open round the clock, while all other pharmacies and medical stores will remain open from 8am till 8pm only.
