Mardan police arrest five in robbery, drug smuggling cases

MARDAN: Police have arrested three accused of robberies and two others in smuggling of crystal meth (ice) here on Tuesday.
District Police Officer Sajjad Khan said they formed an investigation team on reports that batteries and UPS units were being stolen from mosques and under-construction houses in Sheikh Maltoon area. “The arrestees, Javed, Hamid and Luqman, confessed during interrogation that they were involved in the crimes and the police also recovered the stolen goods from their possession,” he added. In a separate incident, the police arrested Awal Khan and Amjad who were allegedly smuggling 220 grams "ice" (Methamphetamine) in their car (LEA 856). The police also confiscated the car and started further investigations.
