A case for Amir

By our correspondents
December 02, 2015
Recently, the ban on Mohammad Amir to play international cricket was lifted by the ICC. It is quite disconcerting to see that some of our test cricketers are averse to his return to international cricket. Their main contention is that since Amir brought a bad name to the country he should not be allowed to play again.
Unlike the other two cricketers who were punished for spot-fixing, Amir was the only one who admitted his mistake right away. Having gone through the detention period in the UK, he returned to the country and apologised for having let the nation down. After the ban of five years, he still has a lot of cricket left in him because he is only 24 years old. Amir should be given a chance to prove his capability to be considered for the national team.
