The PML-N government had started well in office. However, with the start of the new fiscal year, it seems to have lost direction. It has started borrowing a lot of money from the private sector, thus crowding it out. Foreign Direct Investment has declined too. The CPEC has become a moot point between the federating units. Moreover, the PML-N government is very centralised. It has a very indifferent attitude towards the three smaller provinces.
Despite two-and-a-half years in office, many important appointments are yet to be made. Unemployment is increasing day by day. The government had promised to follow merit but this is hardly the case. It needs to create economic opportunities and make endeavors on meritocracy.
