Several suggestions have been put forth to promote religious harmony, tolerance and brotherhood in our society. However, hardly anyone has highlighted the root cause of this problem. Since 1947, the people of Pakistan have remained under the influence of the local clergy who are not necessarily teaching the true meaning of religion. People blindly follow what they are told.
Some children who are uninterested in pursuing education are usually sent for religious education while brighter children are sent by their families into the field of science and technology. This has led to a division in our society where these two groups also suffer from a lack of communication.
