According to news reports, 1,200 hides of donkeys have been seized by the customs authorities in Karachi. That leaves tons and tons of donkey meat unaccounted for. The authorities concerned have launched an investigation into the incident to find out what happened to the meat. It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out what happened. It was eaten by the meat-crazy denizens of this republic.
With a donkey costing many times more than its hide, why would anyone want to throw away the meat? Why not sell it to meat sellers at a bargain price; they will then mix it with mutton, beef or whatever and sell it to the public. This way nothing will go waste and no one will be any wiser about what they are eating or have eaten. Let us see what conclusion the investigators arrive at, if at all they do.
