Thar schools

Criticising the deplorable state of education in Thar, former Nazim Karachi Naimatullah Khan has expressed his willingness to open single-room schools in Thar.
There are 3,113 primary schools for boys and 602 for girls, 42 high schools – seven for girls – and 231 middle schools for boys and 13 for girls. According to the district education department, there are 7,782 employees in the Tharparkar education department. Thus, the government educational infrastructure and manpower is enough to cater to the needs of all Thari schoolchildren. So there is a need to improve existing educational institutions instead of going for new schools.
