Operation Burq

I am a KE consumer and my account no: is 0400008893789, and living in Garden West. I pay my utility bills before the due date every month. One afternoon, my wife informed me that there was no electricity in the area since 10:00am. When I called the KE complaint centre, I was told that the entire area had been shut due to non-payment of dues. I told the KE representative that our apartment consists of five blocks and not a single flat is a defaulter. So why were we being made to suffer for no fault of ours. I was told to visit the nearest KE office in my area with a hand-written application and copies of paid bills of the last six months.
The KE official did not guarantee that my electricity would be restored after submitting the application. Why is KE not getting hold of defaulters by the neck and arresting them instead of punishing entire areas like this? Actions like these will encourage honest consumers to switch to illegal means because the soaring heat even at night is unbearable.
