According to media reports, the CDA will build the Islamabad Expressway from Zero Point to Rawat on its own resources. There is hardly any need for expansion from Zero Point to the Airport Chowk. It will be nothing but a waste of money.
A ring road or the Rawalpindi Bypass is long overdue. This would curtail unnecessary heavy traffic passing through the expressway and thus reduce traffic. There should be more emphasis on the importance of traffic management and discipline and less on widening the roads.
