The Civil Hospital Badin has been catering to the needs not only of the local community but is also treating patients of the nearby Tharparkar district. More than 700 people visit its outpatient department daily. A lot of emergency cases are being referred to the Hyderabad Civil Hospital – a good 100 kilometres away – due to an acute shortage of doctors. A new building of the hospital constructed at the cost of millions of rupees has been lying idle. The authorities concerned are requested to ensure the presence of qualified doctors at the hospital as well as hospitals of other districts of the province so that patients can be saved from the ordeal of going to hospitals in far-off places.
